The Trifecta of Radio

Philippine Radio has been part of our lives since birth. Nothing would have ever been life-satisfying than lying down in your bed, listening to volumes of great, soothing songs that's larger than life.
Oh, the power of technology. Radio, once a walkman fashion, is now available in a typical cellphone, and can be heard as well via online web streaming.
Nothing has been more refreshing listening to wild, upbeat songs that makes you dance a la Shaq-awockeez or just make you stomp your foot to the beat of the drums.

But ever since entertainment stepped into FM Radio uninvited, something tells me - Philippine Radio has never been as exciting as watching American Idol, not until the best and greatest of personalities stepped in.

Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you, the Trifecta of Philippine Radio: BrewRATS, Boys' Night Out, and Good Times.

Addictive. Bombastic. Classy. Dominatrix. Ecstatic. Fearless. Gigantic. Heavy. Immortal. Jerky. Know-it-all. Larger-than-life. Mind-boggling. Nostalgic. Optimistic. Panext. Quizzical. Religious (NOT!!). Sarcastic. Tricky. Upbeat. Vivacious. Whimsical. X (as in Rated X). Youthful. Zealous

These qualities touch a radio listener's Dream DJs, and only exists in the Trifecta. Radio with a twist, that's what a typical listener would tell.
I say it's Radio At Its Finest.
Never has radio been this so talented, so skilled, its capability - endless.
Its arsenal is limitless, even breaking some of the "Old School Thoughts of Radio" and transforming radio into something it has never been before - an entertaining one.

The BrewRATS (Ramon, Angel, and Tado Show)

Where to listen to: DWRT 99.5
What time: 9pm-12mn
When: Monday-Thursday

Per Day Schedule:
Monday: Educational Monday (late segment of Cheezy lines, poems)
Tuesday: Bring-A-Friend Tuesday (late segment of Let Go, Move on messages)
Wednesday: Cultural Wednesday (late segment of Gaano Ka Pinoy ... an homage to King DJ Logan's wittiness)
Thursday: Sando Night Party/Labo-Labo Night (a collaboration of Monday-Wednesday's late segments)

Ramon Bautista. Tado Jimenez. Angel Rivero.
TAMA. Nobody takes the airwaves into a whole new level of entertainment than these three oh-so-funny guys este DJs pala. Ever since their STRANGEBREW days, they always seem to get it together. Their chemistry is unparalleled. Their humor, intangible. "When we got them, we (the then-Hit FM crew) already knew this was a "suntok sa buwan"," said The Kid (Australian Guy as Tado calls him). Yes, this was a blind shot, a no-look pass. And like the NBA, no-look passes are risky but always a beauty to behold when played perfectly. Like a H-O-R-S-E game, a blind shot is a drag but unstoppable once made. The thing that separates BrewRATS from any other radio show is that the BrewRATS is an "everything goes" show. This is what makes them peculiar.
The out-of-the-world jargons that became household terms like panext, patapon, POTP (people of the Philippines),110 volts, 220 volts, etc..
The banging of the illiterate callers which spills untimely laughter in every houses.
The mysterious identities of its avid listeners such as DILG, Sto. Nino, Dahlia ang Sabon ng Artista, Webcam Girl, Angel from Pateros and Valenzuela Girl to name some. Nothing has ever been disturbing as being in a public vehicle late night with people sporting their headsets/earphones on, only to see the passengers bursting with laughter all at the same time. And yes, you probably know at an instance -- This is a radio show where you laugh-till-you-drop. This is BrewRATS.

Boys Night Out(Tony Tony, Slick Rick, Sam YG)
Where to listen to: Magic 89.9
What time: 6pm-10pm
When: Monday-Thursday

One for the horndogs. Tony Tony. Slick Rick. Sam YG. The TVJ of Radio. Nobody beats them in a war of woeful words. They are the only ones who speak of sex all the time yet without a thought appear to the listeners as safe and innocent. They are the best at it. With words such as malaking Titik O, RSJ, PER-FOR-MANCE!! just to recall a few. With their new PRIMETIME timeslot along with their KBP-guarded show, things have been going rocky smooth in Hornyland. But never fear, they never lost their mojo, they just widened their mission: To educate both the educated and uneducated to an educated level of education. Well, who would forget their famous Confession Sessions? Stories from around the Philippines (mostly girls)featuring their wildest and sometimes, wackiest "sexy time" stories. Oh, the humanity. Speaking of, you can catch the best Love Doctor in town, Guru Shivaker (The Love Guru) during Wednesdays as he attends to your love problems and love concerns, if there's any. :)
Yeah men!

Good Times with Mo, Mojo, and Grace Lee
Where to listen to: Magic 89.9
What time: 6am-9am
When: Monday-Thursday

Nothing to spice up your day right into "Laugh Mode" as early as 6am.
The mastermind: Mo Twister.
The accomplice: Mojo Jojo.
The muse: Grace Lee.
The last and arguably the best and most experienced part of the trifecta. Nobody beats them when it comes to up-to-date celebrity news, scandals, and endless rumors of the whole wide world. With Mo Twister leading the pack, morning radio made a new name: Good Times. Even with the strict rules (unlike the two), they still manage to bring up a good and almost, if not, perfect radio show for everyone. They are so professional, so classy, and so mixed with genius that because of them you are having a clear picture of what's going on in the booth. Of course, what is Good Times without the infamous 40 Forbidden Questions that happens during Wednesdays (not every week). Countless of famous artists have fallen and succeeded in this segment, some going on a berserk answering all 40 of them. But, of course, a horndog as Mo Twister is, Forbidden Questions would never be completed with out a very daring dare. Either you kiss Mojo or you take off your top. And believe it or not, most celebs would rather take off their top than to kiss Mojo! Other notables who took the test are the following: Gary Lising, Katya Santos, Gwen Garci, Julianna Palermo, Aubrey Miles, Marc Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez, and the great Ruffa Mae Quintos Check their Podcasts here (including the Forbidden Questions of the past contestants). Plus, the soon-to-be most visited site in the world: Judge My Junk. JMJ is a site where you take a pic of your privy member with a newspaper as your buddy and the world judges your junk. Of course, Mohan doesn't like trolls so, the genius that he is, you can not view unless you're a member. And you can't be a member, if you've not submitted your "junk".

Radio fans, enjoy them while they last. For there will never be another Trinity in Radio, not as good as the BrewRATS, Boys Night Out, and Good Times with Mo.
